Job Description: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Sonoma County


Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. The DSP will work closely with individuals to assist them in achieving their personal goals and objectives, providing a variety of services as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Individual Support:
    • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and medication administration.
    • Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
    • Support individuals in maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
    • Facilitate community integration and participation in social activities.
  • Skill Development:
    • Assist individuals in developing and maintaining essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and budgeting.
    • Provide support for educational and vocational goals, including job training and placement.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all services provided, including incident reports and progress notes.
    • Comply with all agency policies and procedures related to documentation and reporting.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, therapists, and other professionals.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized support plans.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing quality care and support.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
