Supporting Our Heroes: The DSP Wellness Pantry

Caring for Those Who Care for Our Community.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the backbone of our organization. Every day, they provide essential care, advocacy, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). However, even heroes face challenges. We recognized a vital need within our own walls: many of our frontline staff struggle with food insecurity. The DSP Wellness Pantry was launched in January 2026 to ensure that no member of our team has to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

At Milestones, we believe that those who dedicate their lives to supporting others shouldn’t have to worry about supporting themselves. The DSP Wellness Pantry is more than just a food shelf—it is a promise of stability. Every donation ensures our frontline staff can bring their best selves to work, knowing their basic needs are met. When we nourish our staff, we strengthen the quality of care for every adult with IDD in our programs
The DSP Wellness Pantry is currently in its pilot phase. Your feedback and support help us refine this model so we can sustain it for years to come.

More Than Just a Pantry.

The Wellness Pantry is a pilot program designed to provide staff with discreet, reliable access to:
  • Nutritious Food Staples: Grains, proteins, and fresh produce.
  • Personal Care Items: Hygiene products and household essentials.
  • Wellness Resources: Information on local nutrition and health programs.

Building Stability Together.

When our DSPs are healthy and supported, our entire community thrives. By addressing food insecurity, we are:
  • Reducing stress and burnout for our frontline workers.
  • Strengthening the quality of care for our participants.
  • Investing in the long-term stability of our workforce.
